Beyond The Sea Of Trees - Freddie Joachim

Freddie Joachim might be one of the first producers I followed online…like when the internet wasn’t real yet! He had his own website which hosted these Jazzy remixes of Common, Talib Kweli & Mos Def and I was immediately drawn to the mellow sound he created!

The CA native started to make a name through his music online but really became popular when Joey Bada$$ picked up his “Waves” track featured on the “1999 Download” Mixtape in 2012! In 2016, that same beat was used by J. Cole for his “False Prophets” track on the '4 Your Eyez Only' album!

This weekend was my Birthday and it’s almost like he knew it! The release of “Beyond the Sea of Trees” came out Friday May 24th and has that Jazzy Boom Bap sound I’ve come to know and love from F.J.! The album is smooth and mellow, perfect for doing some work around the house or maybe cooking with some wine! I like to vibe to it with a cold brew while sitting at the beach! Listen below on Spotify or Bandcamp and tell us what you think about the new album “Beyond the Sea of Trees” and let us know where your favorite place to listen is!

I also did a mix of some of my favorite Freddie Joachim tracks a few years back! Check it out!
